10 - 10:45 am | Welcome Back Brunch & Keynote Paul Nichols MS '85, Superintendent, Mecklenburg County Public Schools 

Paul Nichols began a career in education in 1980 and has served as teacher, counselor, and administrator in K12 and at the University level. In 1998 he shifted to educational support and consulting, working with the Virginia Department of Education and with two national education software companies. Paul was recently honored to be appointed by Governor McAuliffe as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center.

11:00 am - noon | Campus Tours

Curious about all the new buildings on campus? Current students will be leading tours highlighting Radcliff Hall (Longwood's new Admissions building), Frazer Hall’s new showroom, and Upchurch University Center. Not interested in venturing across campus? Stick around Ruffner for a workshop on the new Alumni Education Community before the faculty panel begins.

Noon - 12:45 pm | The Five C's of Education

Students in every grade are experiencing a new approach to instruction that focuses on key skills for success in a modern world. Join Longwood faculty and alumni in a panel discussion as they discuss the 5 C's: critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, collaboration and citizenship skills.

1 - 2 pm | Roundtable Discussions

Wrap up the day with roundtable discussions lead by Dr. Sarah Tanner-Anderson ‘02, MA ‘07 before receiving your certificate of program completion.
